I grew up in East Texas, between Kilgore and Overton, in a home where faith wasn’t a central part of our lives. My dad struggled with alcoholism, and while things weren’t always dramatic, there was a deep sense of insecurity, instability and uncertainty. I didn’t know what to call it then, but I felt something missing in my life—a void I couldn’t understand.

At the age of 14, my life changed when a friend invited me to Willow Springs Baptist Temple in Kilgore. There, I first heard the gospel—that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to save me. I understood that despite my brokenness, God loved me, and through Jesus, I could be forgiven and transformed. That moment marked the beginning of a new life for me. I gave my heart to Christ and began to grow in my faith.

But what was even more amazing was how God began to work in my family. I was the first believer in my home, but over time, my parents, siblings, and even my paternal grandparents came to know Jesus. I watched God move in powerful ways, bringing healing and restoration to a family that had been marked by brokenness for so long. This experience has deeply shaped my passion for discipleship and ministry.

Along the way of my life, I’ve faced personal struggles, including a divorce and challenges related to abusive church leadership. These experiences have shaped me, teaching me about God’s grace, the importance of forgiveness, and the need to rely on Him in times of hardship. Through it all, I’ve come to believe that ministry is about walking alongside people, offering hope and encouragement, and helping them connect with Christ, no matter where they are in life.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in various ministry roles, including leading small groups, providing pastoral counseling, and supporting church plants. I’ve seen how God can use the gospel to heal, restore, and transform lives, and it has been my heart’s desire to share that with others. Whether it was working in leadership roles at churches in Texas, Washington, and North Carolina, or helping to plant Hosea Church in Raleigh, I’ve been committed to equipping people to live out their faith, share the gospel, and make disciples.

Most recently, I’ve been serving at Belmont Church in Nashville as a Ministry Apprentice, focusing on hospitality and mentoring men and college-age students. This experience has allowed me to continue to grow in my calling and my desire to serve others. My heart for the church is simple: I believe in a community where people experience God’s Word and the transforming power of His Spirit, where discipleship is a way of life, and where individuals are equipped and empowered to live out their faith boldly, no matter where they go.

Through all of this, my vision for ministry remains unchanged: to help people come to know Christ, grow in their faith, and become fully equipped to disciple others. I believe deeply in the power of the gospel to transform lives, families and communities, and I feel called to continue serving the Church in whatever way God opens.
